I recently bought EIC from a local games shop and when I tried to install it it said that the CD key was already registered. Brand new game straight out of the box and first install anywhere that I know of. The Paradox technical forums told me to come post here about it. What can I do or should I just take the game back to the store?

It used GOO as the DRM, so it could be related to that.
Well for your information it is not an expansion pack... they docked the price on the game by the same price that is Pirate Bay(correct sub title?) so either get the original at a discount or get a "FREE" expansion for the same price as any other game.
