Thanks Frogboy and pacov and..........

Thanks Frogboy and pacov and all of the other players last night for the online gaming. After getting the bjesus kicked out of me multiple times by Frogboy in one game and then pacov in another I was immediately forced to call my therapist's 24hr number for counseling. My therapist recommended some Demigod remedial training. So I have elected to enroll myself in the next class of "How to be a better Rook Player 101-the art of not dying so much". I will be making the call first thing Monday morning.

Serioulsy, what a blast[e digicons][/e]

Haha, sounds like a wild night. Glad to see someone taking a beating with a smile for a change. Don't beat yourself up too much, Frogboy was probably using Developer hacks, and we all know Pacov is genetically modified to be better at Demigod

Glad you had some fun.   I'll be around Monday, if you want, for some Rook training!  There are some great guides around the forums, but here are some quick tips for beginners:

1.  Health stack!  You need all the +HP items you can get.  Nimoth's, Blood of the Fallen, and Unbreakable boots are great for starters.

2.  You're slow, and thus easily killed(gankable).  On Cataract, don't tread much past the halfway point unless you have a friend with you, or you have some speed items.

3.  If your hammer slam isn't going to hit, right click someplace else to cancel it and save the mana.

Five Rook tips:

tip 1. always have 2 TP scrolls handy

tip 2. always have a universal gadget

tip 3. boulder roll when someone is in melee range, then hammerslam

tip 4. you dont need to HP stack to be effective

tip 5. try all builds for rook, steer clear of a build with structural transfer in it

I had a blast too.

Last night I saw the greatest comeback ever and it was by the other team.

We had total control of the map and were close to taking down their citadel but they slowly pushed us back. I think we all ended up level 20.

Another great game with frogboy tonight. I wish it was already tuesday and there'd be replays. But soon, very soon, we will have them.

Game Length: 68 minutes

Yea, replays will help a lot.

That was a crazy game.

It was fun playing with you basher!

Shade
That was a crazy game.

I still don't know how we've lost.

If i remember right we had like 5 or 6 more demigod kills than Frogboy's team.

*Cough*Valor Flag Bug*Cough*

It's getting fixed though right Frogboy?

And they got some good port caps at the end aswell. Very frustrating loss.

September 21, 2009 13:00:38

We won because we gained total control of the portals really.

Valor flag is fixed in the build going up tomorrow.

The short amount of experience I have with Demigod (that is growing by the way, I can assure you), I have learned that portals appear to be valuable assets to gain the upper hand, at least for me, especially in the later stages of the game. I am sure others have their favorite strategies as well.

You guys had insane health stacks mid game, because I often missed the incoming teleport in all the mess and got ganked, when I thought I was facing one and all of a sudden a stack of three dgs were pounding on me.

I spent like every dime on the citadell in that game, I didn't even have Namoth's Ring.

There's really no other way to explain the loss except for the Valor Flag bug. We capped that flag very early, and maxed out all our creeps way before you guys could've. Yet our creeps weren't going anywhere, giving you plenty of time to come back. At the end Frogboy [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] [e digicons]:ninja:[/e] snuck into our portal and kept chain locking it for gg.

Yes that must be it, that's why I usually leave the Favor Flag alone.
