Invalid zip code when running weather widgets

Right click-Properties and re-type your location or zip code

I'm having the same problem today as well.

Zip retyped isn't accepted. Cache cleared, widget reinstalled, reboot, doesn't help either.

It was working correctly yesterday and nothing has changed since.

Looking for solution as well.

I don't think it's because of your computer shutting down incorrectly cuz mine's doing it to. It started early this morning.

When the widgets starts up, the error pops up right away, even before I type in my zip code. Then when I do type it in, the error comes up again. Any other suggestions?

It sounds like it isn't my computer then since you guys are having the same problem. Thanks for letting me know. Does anyone know what is going on?

I haven't been here for a while but I am running the same Richard Moyer Combined Weather Widget since he made it, Years? Well today I got the same thing. Wrong zip code. I type my correct one in and it tells me it is invalid.

This has happened before and I empty my current theme, widget cache and reopen Desktop X. That usually works, but not this time. I am getting the same error. It then tells me Desktop X has encountered an error and needs to close. I have rebooted, downloaded and loaded a new widget in case it had become corrupted, tried everything and still can not get a weather widget to work. I even tried some other zip codes that I know and it still tells me it is incorrect. Endless cycle.

Can anyone give me some help on this? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it's not you. It doesn't matter what zip I type in the error occurs.[e digicons]:S[/e]

Perhaps the site of the weather( I don't know which site used the script) is down

I am using the Vienna desktop, and the weather jsut started doign this today. i can't even open it in the designer so that i can disable the weather.

This must be some problem with the weather host, perhaps they changed their format so that we can't leech weather form them anymore (whoever "they" are)....

Until this issue gets fixed my desktopx is useless!!! I hope this is resolved soon!

Me too. Having the same problem. I deleted the weather.ini, and emptied the widget cache to no avail. Guess we'll have to wait it out.

Also seems I have disappearing karma...lol. Is Zubaz around? [e digicons]>_>[/e]

Our resident DX Guru confirms this as a global issue.

Weather.com is up and giving the correct weather for Pittsburgh, Pa. but I see they are offering their own weather for your desktop. Maybe this has something to do with the problem.

My SysMetrix is getting it's weather from Allegheny County Airport and it is still working, but it doesn't have a five day weather forecast. Whaaaaa! I can't live without my weather widgets, I hope some brain can come up with a work around.

The OD 5 day Weather docklet is still working from AccuWeather.Com

But yeah, I need my widgets too! Badly!

OK, nobody laugh, but can you tell me what forum I am posting this in? I still have IE6 and can not see a forum title at the top. I am only getting here from the recent forum activity. I am afraid someone will post an answer and I will not be able to find it. Thanks!

yeah.. all weather widget stopped working now, except the accuwether's widgets..

It would be nice if somebody could make us a script for accuweather since they don't seem to have a problem. I tried to import a script but there's no import button for DX's script editor.[e digicons]X|[/e]

Most of the user created widgit use _martin_s base which uses weather.com
