Working for me- I'm posting this from within Impulse in the Impulse forum.

Good, do you have a solution or an explanation?

April 7, 2009 10:50:01

Maybe its just a sign of ongoing work on the forums? I don't run Impulse unless I'm installing or updating, but over the past fortnight I've seen several instances of the cross-forum signin breaking in FireFox (I've had to sign in at both GC2 and Elemental).

I'd log out, clear my cookies, and log in again on an IE browser

Can't tell if you're typing to Zyx or to me. If it's me, I didn't find the problem very vexing because it is very intermittent and I never use IE unless I absolutely have no other choice. I'm only using FF because some confluence of Stardock and Opera changes made the sign-ins stop working entirely.

Yes- it's a problem with your system and/or browser.  I was just clarifying it wasn't a system-wide issue.  Zubaz's suggestion was a good one- try that.  If it doesn't work in IE, it won't work in Impulse.

Yep, it works from a tabbed SeaMonkey browsing session.

But not IF i'm using Impulse "regular" link to IE7 features such as caching, security principles, cookies, etc.

Pffffftttt, how come i didn't try this solution before even asking?

I just got the auto-sent "password" reminder, and since Impulse is a stand-alone "browser" that ties its features with IE7 instead of SeaMonkey - it explains why cookies or logging processes won't transit without IE.

**Proof test #2**

**And, as now indicated by the above reply**

I have enough malwares in some IE7 folders mess already. Clear, scan, virus checking, clear, scan again -- ya know.

From now on, i'll simply click on Bookmarks (to get into Impulse) rather than use some hidden Starry  menu Favorites or being enforced with a Yahoo! search engine field that i never wanted - that should solve it.

Thanks Zubaz!

EDIT: Glad it's fixed!

Because you know I have to do *some* good around here to earn my keep and keep shoes on my kids?

Nope, cuz i'm that lazy (or confused) while you aren't for earned paychecks. [e digicons]:sheep:[/e]
