I would thereby decline any prize and suggest that it go to the next person.

Because you feel someone else need it better, or because you feel you have no right to the prize?

Switching from SDC to impulse DOES make you a new impulse customer, there's no mention of someone having to be a new stardock customer. So there would be no moral issues in accepting it, regardless of which "side" you see it from.

You're just full of shit from every side, aren't you mickeko?  You read my reasons and now want to manipulate the conversation to suit your trolling needs.  I won't repeat myself for your benefit.

Get an education and a job and one day, you'll understand.

Damn.......do you actually read a post when it's made, mickeko?

Stop trolling around decent threads and looking to push your shitty agenda on everyone.

@Motti: Nicely said.

@Stardock: Nice idea for a promotional item. The winner will be one lucky customer.[e digicons][/e]

I too don't think it's right. I've only been a customer for over a year now. Am I a new customer? I have 5 e-mail addresses. Must I oen 4 new accounts or more to MAYBE be eligible? I also have helped in the past year and a half by supporting Master Skinners and purchasing just about everything you have for sale save for the games. Why shouldn't I be eligible. I just think it's an unfair practice for all the people before me who MADE this a reality. Sorry Stardock, but that's my humble opinion.

March 21, 2009 10:50:25

Fuzzy Logic
I would have thought this applies to new customers?

If you are already a customer, it doesn't matter how many new accounts you create you are still an existing customer.

Personally, if this was my company, I would get all those who are moaning, refund their money, delete their accounts and tell them I no longer wished them to be customers.

Bunch of spoiled brats

Anyone creating a new Impulse account, regardless of if they have one already or not, is creating a brand new account, as in (as far as all servers and Stardockians could tell) new customer.

To create a second account a different email is required, so it is a complete seperate identity from the first.

How is this not a new customer. To register my 3rd GC game i have no choice but to create a new account.

Once again, and it seems i'm destined to argue this forever more.

But if what i am talking about was not an intended feature of Impulse and of the way SD see's customers using Impulse, then why is the Create New Account feature right there in the Impulse Orb?

Why is it i have run with 2 seperate Impulse accounts for near to a year with no issue or hassle?

The trolls are coming out of the woodwork in this thread. And with them the tired old Star Trek pictures. Gee never seen one of those before, thank god for Adblock Plus.

Edit - I am not moaning. As i have stated if i was not already in need of a third account for my 3rd GC2 game i would not bother doing this. Since i need to reg that account and buy DA for it, i thought i'd pre-order Elemental at the same time and wualify myself for that PC.

What about me giving Stardock over $100 do you think they will not like?

Have you got value for money from your purchases?

Then stop your crying. How are you wronged?

Go find a site with a banner add proclaming the one millionth troll will win such and such.

I'm sure you can win that easy enough.

If your so out of pocket, ask for a refund.

I think it's time we pronounce this thread the Official "Prove to the world you are a Troll" thread.

Let's desist with the personal attacks.

Hint...

Violate Stardock's site rules and you'll find yourself ineligible for any prize.

Ever.

This whole thread serves Stardock right for being so generous.

As the saying goes: no good deed goes unpunished

So what about the rest of us?  The ones who helped you get to 1,000,000 in the first place?

completely agree. The way that Stardock has sub drives and such to get us to subscribe and renew and that sort of thing and now they pull this bullshit?

I'll remember this the next time I see a sub drive.  I implore the rest of you to do the same.

And how the hell is Impulse something worthy of a prize anyways ?

<rant>It sure looks like a lot of people are upset over such a little thing.  I suspect it's just the vocal minority, but here's a thought.

Why would anyone feel cheated because of a giveaway like this?  Does some random person getting something affect you somehow?  Did you not get value for money when you made your purchase?  Talk about a sense of entitlement.

If you want the same chance of winning this machine as this random unknown does, just download Impulse under a new name and email and buy something.  Problem solved.  There's no guarantee though. You'll only have the same chance as anyone else.

You might also want to complain about some random person winning the lottery.  Sucks to be you, huh? </rant>

Other thoughts - Congrats to whomever wins the machine.  And congrats to Stardock for reaching this milestone.

If this were 'buy something through impulse within the next 30 days , and you get a chance to win the l33t PC ' or something like that , I doubt you'd see any of this , but it's become this arbitary thing that pisses in the face of those of us who were the ones using Impulse since it came out, and that's what irks us.

As it is, I'll only be affected the next time I see a sub drive from Stardock or Wincustomize. Thanks for your concern

While it's a great way of promoting SD's products and shows great generosity, I'm upgrading from SDC to impulse today and will likely buy an item or two.

If this puts me in the running and if I do win, I don't care to have my real identity posted on a gaming site, as is common with winners of these promotions.

I would thereby decline any prize and suggest that it go to the next person.

If the odds are still a million to one (time & past included), there's one more dedicated forum user & savvy player & somehow, in need for a "better" PC gear that surely deserved that much luck for all the splendid participation to our community. I could name a few others and i wouldn't be far from a rational truth.

Ambition & Hope are both a rather long 4000 letters word, lately. [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e]

Good Luck to any.

I understand that you are disappointed but you don't need to make that big a deal out of it.  Complaining won't make a difference anyway, so calm down before you inspire some more people to yell at you because they like to pretend that they are too morally superior to wish they could get the computer [e digicons][/e]

heh I'm just fine thanks. And they're perfectly welcome to yell at me.

You are exactly the kind of person I mentioned earlier. If this were my company, you'd be gone.

All I've ever seen you contribute to this site over the years is to piss on it and the people who run it.

I'd rather see the site close than you get the pc.

March 21, 2009 16:25:15

Oh I'll still buy stuff. But I'm not about to buy extra stuff just because there's a 'sub drive ' or anything

Wanna stereotype me? Then all you've done , Fuzzy Logic , is nuthug and bitch when someone questions the party line. Oh , and post star trek themed pictures. Happy that I stereotyped you? I couldn't care less who gets the PC. Even if it was you.

(You are what you eat, or drink in this case.  I'll have one of these...)

You'd think a game should be fun to play - on any potentially available new gear (by luck, or otherwise!) even when we have lucid dreams, daily.

So far 999,750 and counting, with a steady ratio of 50 per week (or more) we all should be able to snap out of it within the next 5 weeks or less.

(Sorry everyone, no link for an appropriate image to better illustrate such a thought!)

It's a sad world, unfortunately. Stardock are generous enough to offer a pc for the one millionth purchase and all people can do is stomp their feet like small children because they feel it's unfair in some way.

There's nothing more you can say.

You can do one of two things: congratulate the one millionth customer on their new pc, or spend your day being miserable because you think you are hard done to.
