WB and Windows Live Messenger Problem!

By Posted March 11, 2009 17:29:55

Hi! So I'm having a really annoying problem with WB and Windows live messenger. I've been trying to fix msn for about 4 days now and stumbled across one post that suggested that I turn off WB to see if msn would work and it does! BUT, I rather like WB and would like to keep it on... I did a per application setting excluding windows live messenger but I still recieve the same error (which is kind of novel but annoying. I can sign in but a few seconds later get a "communications error" that exits the program BUT if I just ignore that window floating on the top of my screen the program works perfectly... but that window is UBER annoying). Any suggestions?

what OS are you using?  I'm on XP Home 32 bit SP3 and use Windows Live Messenge, not all that often, but don't get that error.

Well i'm running Windows XP Service pack 3, and an older version of WB, build 5.01 (should be six but reinstalled w/ the disk i ordered and can't seem to update up to the end of my subscriptions updates, but that's an issue for another day)

This is a known issue with WindowBlinds 5.X and the latest Live Messenger.  The only fix is to upgrade to the latest version of WindowBlinds (any 6.X version) or remove WindowBlinds 5.x. As this is not presentin the latest version, it will most likely not be patched in 5.x

I'm having the same problem.

since I've installed windowblinds my windows live messenger doesn't work.

When I log in my msn account it logs in, but 5 seconds later it logs out automaticly.

I have Windows XP sp3 32Bits, WindowBlinds 6.0 build 32 86x and the last version of windows live messenger (i think it is 9)

Please somewone help me![e digicons][/e]

I got the Mustang MyColors theme and installed it on my wife's laptop. I installed the latest Live Messenger on her laptop and I suddenly had issues with the animations and parts of the Start Menu would not paint..........I removed Live Messenger and all was fine........is that particular MyColor theme based on WB5 tech or is there some other issue?

Here they are:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.0 (build 32 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha.  WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor.  Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware.  Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature.  Onboard graphics tend not to.

(Monitor predefinido) 1 is attached to MOBILITY RADEON 7500

seriously, i need a way to fix that problem.

Contact support at Stardock dot com and give them the information you provided when you purchased WindowBlinds.

They will assist you.

That's like stealing a camera from a shop and then going back in and asking them to fix it. No one is going to help you fix your problem, I hope it trashes your system, many of these warez copies do......... Muwahaha

Latest version of MyColors should have no issues.  An update through Impulse should do the trick.
