Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment Beta Starts Tuesday

Ironclad and Stardock are pleased to announce that the beta for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment will begin Tuesday, December 16th.  Please note that all pre-orders will be charged tomorrow when the beta is made public.

Entrenchment requires the full version of Sins of a Solar Empire v1.12 and will only be available via Impulse (http://www.impulsedriven.com).  While the beta will be English-only, we expect the final release to be available in several other languages as well through cooperation with Kalypso.

Yeah, pre-order doesn't get you a VIP. I flew to vancity, bought the whole team B.C. Salmon dinners and got a tour of the office they work in. THAT gets you VIP.

The longest uninterrupted trade chain that gives the bonus trade income thing. It's being re-done somehow for Entrenchment, since IC admitted the algorithm for it in vanilla isn't that great. Blair said it's going to be a part of something new they're doing so it won't be in beta 1 of Entrenchment, but sounds like it'll be in for the final if not other phases.

Ok gotcha, yeah the trade route thing is a bit iffy....

This time tomorrow, we all could have a starbase up pounding our enemies!!!!

hi everyone.  Someone might remember me from the good ol' beta days

 

Anyways, I just logged on today and I heard great things going on!  i'm excited!!!

 

unfortunately, it also means I need to buy a laptop PC for school since my big pc is not very portable. Hopefully I'll see some of you online!

The Entrenchment install is about a 96MB download from Impulse and will require about 300MB of hard drive space to install.

After we release the beta, you'll be able to use PayPal for pre-orders.

Dear Ironclad/Stardock,

I would like to inform you that I have failed finals.  The reason is a toy I bought for $9.95 called Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment.  I would just like to complain that my life is now ruined thanks to this game and it's badly timed release.

P.S.: I haven't taken my finals yet (but will tomorrow) and I'm sooo glad the beta is coming out tomorrow.  It will keep me occupied until I get to go home and d/l the beta on my home PC (27" Monitor; That's 11.6 more inches of real estate to look at a starbase).
