Get Your E:WoM Avatars Here! [image heavy thread]

They only cost one (1) karma - each!

By Posted November 10, 2008 03:37:57

OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection. You can get them below.

How to use one of them as your avatar:

  1. Just right click and "save as" to your local desktop
  2. Then go to your "My Account" section
  3. Click on the "Images" tab
  4. Finally select the local file and do the right thing.

NOTE: If you are using Flash 10 as part of your primary browser then use an alternate browser none DX10 enabled browser to UL the image to your account.

The official Lore images (with resizing by Spartan):

I'd give you some Karma, but you're too close to me. It'd feel like aiding the competition.

and I'm a good chunk of your recent karma as is

the real competition is annatar though.  That guy's got tons of karma, and not from doing anything (its all from the off-topic threads.  And he's very helpful, so I'm not trying to downplay that he deserves it exactly... just it isn't frame elemental forum contribution exactly).  Though, in his defense he is a regular in the IRC chat.
Pfah. Of course he doesn't deserve it. He's Annatar!

I'm sure I could say the same for a couple of forum posters by the nicks of Luckmann and Landisaurus. [e digicons][/e]

Also, you guys suck for not having any fox images.

ok kitkun.  I promise next piece of art I do for elemental fandom will either include a fox or be created along-side a fox.

If you want, we can claim the eye-ball in Gazing's avatar used to belong to a fox before it got all magical and crazy.

It's interesting to note that the first result that showed up when searching for "Fantasy fox" on google was to FOX News.

As it should be given that Fox operates in a fantasy world. [e digicons]:fuzzy:[/e]

Yeah, I have to agree with Spartan.   That is not surprising at all.

May 24, 2009 09:30:30

True, true. It seems like everybody's canted to the right or left (but mostly right) these days. Where can a guy go to get actual NEWS anymore..... and I'm NOT talking about the "tot mom".

The division of political ideologies into left and right is a erronous and faulty system of categorization.

I wasn't suprised. I just found it interesting.

May 24, 2009 12:37:50

Well, he did win a landslide victory, did he not? Granted, we had some messianic overtones in various confirmed left-of-centerpublications *cough*NewYorkTimes*cough*, but we also had a lot of creepy Manchurian Canditate stuff from Fox.

May 24, 2009 16:48:09

I wish I didn't so love to aid and abet threadjackings...Anywho, before I get to the 'real' political stuff, I just want to point out that what landi says about forum karma simply points out that it's actually analgous to 'real' karma, and hence a cosmic mystery that all who care are doomed to contemplate without hope of a clear conclusion.

[quote who="Luckmann" reply="11" id="2222745"]The division of political ideologies into left and right is a erronous and faulty system of categorization. ...

Luckmann, I still have no idea whether your fascist patter in other threads was play-talk or serious, and that bothers me at least a bit no matter what the answer is. But whether or not you seriously admire murderous authoritarianism from the historical right, you are most definitely correct that those labels are decreasingly useful in modern political arguments. And I'm both surprised and pleased to see such a claim coming from the 'heartland' of Europe. If you'd like to continue a discussion along these lines, please post something in the Off-Topic area.

OK, hopefully that wasn't so much encouraging a threadjacking as offering a bypass...

Edit: There's another vexingly practical area where Luckmann and I definitely agree: quoting on the Stardock forums can be a real hassle and not worth the bother to attempt tidying up. I started with a quote from landisaurus, but attribs vanished and my first chunk of typing is embedded in the 'quote.'

woah, somebody's goin' deep.   I  want karma so I'm included in whatever karma related goodies Stardock might offer (namely admittance into the Gamma, or alpha if it becomes available to users) and it does serve has a fun sort of competition.   I would like to imagine that the effort I put out does reflect well in 'real' karma if such a thing exists.  And my studies into Quantum mechanics suggest it does (by "studies", I mean documentries I've watched.   I'm not actually so educated that I can honestly say I've personally done research)

When it comes to how I give out forum karma, I try to follow the golden rule.  If it looks like somebody spent time on it, I try to give it karma.  Pictures, mock-ups (I should probebly give Tamren more karma on that note), or particularly extensive riding certainly deserves karma.   I also give karma 'just cause' for things like... giving another cookie (to those I think might get the joke) or special numbers (like spartan's 100th karma is proudly one I gave.  Even though he's got more than I do and doesn't need it XP)

All that being said, You had better give me karma GW ^_^

(you know, if you're going to post an edit to your post GW, you might as well edit tho 'quote' sections to work.  Go into the HTML if you have to.   just add  "[" + "quote" + "]" and don't worry about all that "who="landisaurus" junk.  If that still checks out, make sure you have the correct slash, which it appears you do.  So lastly I'd say be sure to check for html junk.  my rule on that is, if you don't know what it does... you likely don't need it, and use the "preview" button if you don't know html at all )

May 25, 2009 16:58:06

Let your actions speak for yourself, not your karma "score".[e digicons]:bebi:[/e]  Being useless like myself means no worries for such things. Destiny (or Lady Luck) will provide if it must be. Also, a system that doesn't allow to add negative karma and in which some people basicaly gives it for free according to different situations/interests = devaluated karma.

So... what was this thread about?

I was making a new avatar for myself (trying to level up here) when I decided to make some extra. Nothing fancy but better than nothing.

I'm really not a fan of drow01.png (and hence very glad you changed your avatar!) because of the jagged edges, but other than that, I love 'em!

I'm still dealing with borders, which means I have to update/repeat some (like more than a dozen that lie here in a folder of my hard disk XD). Glad that you liked them.[e digicons]\o/[/e]

Murderous Savage!

2 options:

  1. They worship the bears as animals of greath strenght and try to emulate them in attitude and with clothing but witouth killing what would be some kind of sacred animal to them.
  2. They worship the bears as animals of greath strenght and try to emulate them in attitude and with clothing, and that includes to eat and dress with the bears remains as they believe that they take the bears strenght and make it theirs.

In any case, yeah, they are savages.

Edit:

And here I was thinking I had already showed this one:

I still have some more but the art is not Elemental's and is more amazon related...

Doesn't work that wat with a pelt.

I vote we play a 3-way battle and you and I immediately gang up on Wintersong. We'll have either his pelt or his scalp. Maybe his hide, too.
