I tried every trick I know and I could not get any better then you have. I even tried hipass and color burns and all sharps.
The only thing that might work is to take a picture of it at full size on a LCD monitor with a digital camera set to 100x100 at high contrast.
Oh well, I can live with it I think.

I did a couple of tries. Here's a few samples.
The upper left one is your original, with my 3 resizings as the other ones.Let me know if any catches your fancy, Vandenburg.

Though it's a bit more brown then the original, so...

And yes, I know that the middle one is a bit more brown/golden, but it kinsa came to be due to an accident. I was messing around, and I liked how it turned out, since it brought out all the darker colors a bit more.
Edit: My favourite by far is the leftmost one, since it's the one closest to the original, but with a lot less blur.
I also made a higher level contrast one but decided the more pale original one looks better for the forum skin style. I think maybe a blue channel boost of 10% with a 5% sharp might do the trick and still keep the pale tone to the rest.
I made some simple recolorings of the Firestone (the red gem), enjoy, all.
Just so you know, the technical name for the brown crystal(s) is "Bearstone". [e digicons]^_^[/e]

Just so you know, if you did the color change thing for the dragon & fallen avatars, I would be colored impressed (pun intended). [e digicons]igichet:[/e]
In the meantime, I did the elements;
That is the beauty of the fallen. Making the armor standout from the dark eerie environment and still retain that sexy mystic about it. Given the work you have already done. I would say you are more than capable of doing such a thing. Hell you are starting to make me look with all the new items - not that I mind. A dozen or so more and you should surely start your own gallery thread.
Spartan, you have mail. It can be hard to see on these forums, since there doesn't appear to be a big pop-up in your face, saying "You've got a PM! READ IT! ACHTUNG! NOW!", which I prefer.
Edit: And I don't at all mind having this thread, as long as you keep updating the original post.
