Why is double posting considered so wrong?

What was that about the 26th post?

I wish smilies were never invented. I will start the petition to ban them...

Signed. (But I'm in smiley recovery.)

SIR NASTY OF TANG
Don`t you guys have any thing better to do ???

Hey, some ghost from the past just showed up! How's it going Nasty?

PS; The 26th (or any multiples of 25, btw) post "syndrome" is a tricky situation that involves a few odd steps in how someone refreshes the online page switch and this can only happen when their cache doesn't reset fast enough to show what the Forum is currently processing.

This update can make one believe their message wasn't registered on the site and thus, they rewrite another simply by backing up to an earlier browser state and hitting 'Post Reply' again. Which the Forums, of course, loops back into its usual & continual routine.

Thus, double-post -- yet, accidental.

Next thing you know, someone will want to ban Smilies

I wish smilies were never invented.  I will start the petition to ban them...

Just staring at your own local row of many_many symbolic Medals on every posts you make (like everyone else, btw) puzzled me beyond belief when you wrote such a contradictory statement about the intrusive graphical nature of Smilies.

[e digicons]:O[/e] (Or, in as many words to reproduce the same emotional expression - i'm SHOCKED... and capitalized!)

\1/  \\\\ plenty of more bytes to "say" it, above ////

[e digicons][/e]

I never said I was against intrusive graphics (like medals) and I never said smilies were graphically intrusive by nature.  I said I wish they were never invented and they are evil.  Sounds like you have hidden, repressed, angry feeling against smilies you are attempting to project onto others!  Just sign my petition for Total B.S. and we can start the eradication of evil smilies!

[e digicons]:O[/e] !

I said I wish they were never invented and they are evil.

Misinterpreted on my part (sorry), but then again what's your clear'er definition of Evil stuff as it relates to the Smilies... i'm neither for or against them, btw - quite useful at times actually.

[e digicons]}[/e] [e digicons]:sheep:[/e] ... good or badly rendered as per anyone's taste for imaging a thought, they're as invasive as modern webby chatting abbreviations such as AFAIC, IMHO, LOL or [e digicons][/e] -- simply, typed up cheers.

lol...I'm not disputing what you say about the 25th, it was a joke as it just so happens that the next poster dbled up on 27 & 28 with the exact same message.

If you happen to be the 26th poster on any given thread, i'll bet you'd also make a double-post since that's when the refresh pagination gimmick TRIES to access any of our browser caches.

26 is also the double of 13, which we all know is a terrible number.  [e digicons][/e]
