Weather Docklet not detecting internet???

My weather docklet stopped working about three or four days ago. It says "Internet not available". It had been working for at least 6 months prior. I am running Windows XP, Objectdock 1.9 Plus, area code 46755. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyway here is the time line for the issue you are having.

- in 200and blahblooblah.... Stardock switches from the Weather Channel to AccuWeather, and the people were happy.

-Shortly after the weather docklets and weather gadgets were updated and Object Dock Plus got a beta update that contained some better 64bit support and fixes for the new servers with Accuweather.

-After that we release a new beta that blows up (it was a beta after all) and Object Dock backs up to just the release version of Object Dock Plus and rebreaks the weather gadget some but makes the 'dock' part work well again.

-Developers have made different changes that makes putting up the previous version of the beta impossible.

-The next beta should contain the fixes for the doclet plus updates leaning on the 2.0 release (but not all of them).

-The next update is planned for this month after this week of crazy releases.

Sorry for my comic interpretation of the facts but I had hoped to entertain you while explaining that more time is needed. Currently the dock will work in certain areas that the old version was already mapped to, but not all. The best thing to do is to look for locations close to you (by town or zip code) until the release comes out. Please let me know if you have further questions.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I appreciate you getting back to us so promptly in regard to this issue. I just purchased OD+ two days ago after seeing it on someone elses screen in a YouTube video. I haven't been able to use my computer without it now! Not that having weather updates is that critical of a feature in OD, but it definitely adds to the functionality and visual eye candy that OD is all about. Can't wait till 2.0!

Well it is a two point system between the docklet and the weather servers. If there are certain changes going on that the docklet does not look for then you will get errors like that.

As I said you can expect an update through Impulse for it shortly. It should be a beta update but I am certain everyone will enjoy the work. Please let me know if you have further questions.

I am having the exactly same problem since the last weekend. Never experience such a long time unavailable weather status before. Usually I restart the objectdock and everything comes back. But this time nothing works.

I have been googled an old post from Seabass on April of this year, said that the weather data system was maintaining at some point. I am wondering if it is the same thing and we could get an update soon.

Interesting...the weather docklet in my freeware OD software that I installed on my laptop last week is still working, however, the OD+ version that I have on my desktop is not. I wonder if it is because of the different versions of software Seabass was talking about. Well, hopefully the issue will get all sorted out sooner than later.

I have been getting this error on and off for the last two weeks. I am in St. Petersburg, Florida

I cant get it done. It works I know it, coz i tryed the example (berlin, germany) but Im in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Eu. I tryed the code (BK001) still didnt work; also tryed EUR|BA|BK001|SARAJEVO which is official on accuweather.com but i cant get it done. It keeps tellin me: "Feed not available...try again later."

PLS HELP ME!

Accuweather.com can give you some insight into how they are naming the location of your city or town. Simply look it up on the website and see how they list it. Then write that into the weather dock properties and the docklet will make a "best guess" unless it finds it right away. Let me know if you guys have further troubles.

still didnt work, just keeps tellin me: "please enter in a valid location"

I can use that location from here. Could anyone else try it to see if they get the disconnection with that location?

I noticed that if I quit ObjectDock and then restart it, 99 times out of 100, the weather docklet will then update. It seems to get "blocked up" after running a day or so. Quitting and restarting ObjectDock seems to help most of the time.

Can confirm this, I tried a manual update first, still got feed not available, quit and restarted OD and weather updates fine.

I was able to replicate some of that. I am reporting it up to find out of there is some insight from the developers on this.

The weather docklet will only work with AccuWeather. You can look through the ObjectDock library for further docklets to try and install them.

The beta is not yet available for ObjectDock.

My doclet doesnt recieve the weather information anymore either, ive tryed alot of combos for locations even ones that im not in, all i get is Feed not available try again later been like that for awhile now. hope accuweather fixes it.

What location are you attempting to access?
