Yuuzhan Vong

Peace is not the natural state of the Universe

By Posted February 12, 2008 22:38:31

The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived and you shall know pain. We are recruiting new members. While it seems rather popular to be "anti-Kzinti" we are not. Competition is a good thing and we are looking for active players. While a "new" empire we are collective of folks from the old Arrakis Imperium and Galactic Empire. Noobs and old timers welcome

That's a great pic... where is it from?

And which are you, I have to ask? The old gerontocratic looking guys, or the reptilian guy kneeling before them?

In any case, good luck with your empire.

Obviously, he's the Yuuzhan Vong. The Yuuzhan Vong are the mean guys to the right.

Thanks for the well wishes. The art clip is from a Star Wars fan site. Soon I will submit my first successful campaign as Yuuzhan Vong. It is fitting that the setting was on masochistic.

The Kzinti welcome the Yuuzhan Vong to the Metaverse! With our friend Vukasika in command, we have no doubts that the empire will be a success.

May the Fanged God grant you victory over your foes!

I would think so, too. If you've read or know anything about the Star Wars expanded universe, I'm *pretty sure* the little bird thing kneeling on the left is Vergere, who was an Old Jedi who trained Jacen Solo. Been a while since I read those books.

Correct. I see we are recognized among some citizens of the Metaverse.

Actually I read up on the Yuuzhan Vong and they remind me of the DreadLords in many regards. Check out the Wookiepedia article on them. I mean i guess i always pictured the Dreadlords using organic armor and these guys morality seemed to fit the part!

February 13, 2008 21:05:24
The Yuuzhan Vong are Star Wars, dumbass.
February 13, 2008 22:09:18
Easy there if he was looking at the wookiepidia then he obviously knows they are Star Wars lighten up. RisingLegend I can see the comparison between the Yuuzhan Vong andthe Dread Lords. I just picture the Dread Lords as being a bit more powerful, maybe the Yuuzhan Vong 10000 years later.

I know its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy off-topic (well, its really off-topic at the least), but I noticed after reading a bunch of Wookiepedia articles that all problems with the Sith have stemmed from the Jedi Order. The Sith (as they are commonly known) were created by Jedi who were banished from the Republic. The Sith have been annhiliated time and again, but are reborn when some dumb-ass Jedi snoops around in a Sith tomb/ruin/archive and is either possessed or corrupted. What the hell?!

Anyway, good luck with your Empire, and the Yuuzhan Vong kinda remind me of what would happen if the Zerg assimilated the Wraith.
February 14, 2008 13:45:23
Nice cross platform (starcraft & stargate) comparison. Both Zerg and Wraith are welcome in the Yuuzhan Vong. Agreed, nosy jedi are a sith's best friend. Perhaps it's because the nosy are often weakminded as well. hmmm....

Just joking about calling you a dumbass, my friend said he would pay me $10 is I posted that. How do you join?
February 14, 2008 20:23:34
You'll need to create a character and either select Yuuzhan Vong as an empire or once you create a character I'll send you and invite.

With all the joy and evil scientist like myself can muster, I want to share that the suicidal campaign I just began is off to a great start. Our home world as 2 (yes 2) 700% research bonuses and a 300% research bonus to boot. normally, the biggest obstacle in a suicidal campaign is competing with the early AI empires research. With 3 labs starting off producing asmuch research as 24, I believe this campaignn will be successful. I'm using the modified Kyrrn as well discussed to be the "standard" Yuuzhan Yong template.

This campaign has proven a simple exercise and me forces are moving in to destroy the last Drengin and Arcean holdouts. There are few minor races to be conquered along the way. I am bit suprised with our success given that this campaign was setting at suicidal difficulty.

Most excellent,

I plan on starting my first campaign later this evening. I will be balancing campaigns between my characters to maximize points for the empire.

Thank you for your efforts Nihilus and Hidar,

I have a campaign in progress that I'll submit later this week. Then I'll switch a different character for a campaign or two to help the empire score.

I know this is off topic, but i found a weird reference to Darth Vader.>WWW Link< i figured i post this since the Yuuzhan Vong are from Star Wars.
February 18, 2008 20:33:56
Cool. Good to know there are little Star Wars tidbits hiding out there.

The Geckodons wish you good wills.

Thank you for the welcome. We are a bit of a recycled bunch aren't we. Hey Vuk I keep getting horrible starting positions. Any suggestions?

you can always cntrl-n until you find one you are happy with. Note that on a rare occasions sometimes it resets the AI intelligence levels randomly, but again this is a rare occurrence.
February 19, 2008 15:30:29
Thank you I seem to get that "rare" AI glick every time I try to Cntrl-N my way to the good life lol.
