Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be...

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for another 80 octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 21 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 43.4% of this galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for almost 16 months running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

kzin6

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

/snorks at the last few words.

Sometimes I do my reptilian friend...sometimes I do.

Do I trust myself....newp.  I often, dispite my soap box above, let my emotions get the best of me and I loose control of what I know is right...or wrong. [e digicons]}[/e]   Without the feeling of control, you cannot trust 100%.  See...see...talking out of my ass lol.

Ah no it isn't a gila, that is a Mali Uromastyx.

On another note, I was thinking of getting Spore.  I read a bit about it recently the way the different stages of the game work sounds very interesting.  Anybody here played it yet?

I have been playing it alot KP. And by alot i mean... A LOT!! lol...

It is a fun little game, very addictive but i think the game will be most appreciated by those who are Simcity fans. It has a very immature feel to it, though i did read it was "dumbed" down to gain a wider audience but neverthe less it is providing much ammusement. The creature stage is my favorite ATM though i have just progressed to the Space stage on a well played map (i restared many time as i learnt the game better) and am having fun.

Heres my Klingon-esque candidate I made for the Political Machine 2008, Korak the Mighty!

I couldnt get any head bumps, so I settled for a viking helmet, hehe.   Surprisingly, he's a Democrat!  [e classic][/e]   Is there some way to change skin-tone?  I couldnt find it, but it seems like that's something that should be an option.

I definitely intend to get Spore at some point in the near future.  I've played a lot of the Sim games over the years, and this one looks like one of the most creative so far.

yeah, I believe its under the second tab when yer making yer candidate.  Its at the top; its kinda easy to miss in its own way i spose.  its a box that is colored the skin tone you are using

have you played any of the scenarios yet (Drengin, Europa)  I won the Drengin scenario- i tried Europa but my Liberal candidate kept approving of Conservative ideas (basically because I forgot that in Europe everything is opposite LOL)

Yeah, that does kind of piss me off a bit.  I hope that more game companies will pay attention to Stardock's "Gamers Bill of Rights".

One thing that I think could be better in PM08 is that I wish your candidate acquired new skills & abilities along the campaign trail, but only rarely does anything increase, and any increase you might get within the game resets after the last election.  Also the way the sliders work for opinions on the various issues when you create your character is too restrictive....its not likely your candidate will have strong views on anything, because its too expensive.

I havent tried the Europa or Drengin scenarios yet.  I've beaten up through Lincoln using Korak, and then using Reagan I made it up to Thomas Jefferson, who keeps whipping my ass!

Buy the game, install and then D/L the crack from the pirate version and copy that .exe over the default exe. Input serial.

There ya go, a legal registered copy of Spore with no DRM. Yes i think the 3 activiation limit will still be there as that is tied to the serial and not the .exe but i can live with that.

I just noticed another EA gem while counting my wifes Sims 2 disc bow collection. One game ,six major expansions, seven stuff collections{stuff you could download for free in sims1} all on CD. My wife does not like to buy the Dvd versions. So she has over 21 discs for one game Just imagine if gal civ 2 was EA the update in october would be on disc at walmarts for $9.96 retail. If spore or any other EA game catches on you too will be swimming in discs. One final note of dispair{or hope?} about EA, my wife had Sims 1 but when we got a new computer she couldnt find one key disc from the base game so no sims till she bought the base game over again, then two months later they reliesed the whole game on Dvd at $39.99 .This ends my off topic, wrong post rant of the day.

September 14, 2008 11:53:44

I think any post that flames EA is on topic, rant or not. EA deserve a slap in the face with a cold fish....

No Spore for me, that's all I got to say, I'd like to people protesting by not buying any games made by EA.

Hey Commboru, any gaming topic is not off-topic in this thread. [e classic][/e]   For me, if the game is good enough, even if I hate the company I'll still buy it because games come first!  So I have to disagree with Seth in that I'd be too tempted to buy a great game from an bad company.  It does suck to have to support a crappy company though to get a good game.

What sort of setup are you using Seth?  Race, galaxy settings, super, etc.

I did!  Looks like it might have some great potential for individual colony management, if it works out the way I think it should.

The race I'm using is the Terrans, my oppenent are the Korx (since they'll sel you anything), I think everything is on occasional and the galaxy is either large or huge (I forget.) I used ARC to increase the Terrans' abbilites

September 15, 2008 15:23:27

The Swindle works best with a maximum number of opponents, so you can Swindle each one of them in turn, and most of the planets in the galaxy are colonized.  In my last game I went from a couple dozen planets, to over 450 planets after the first Swindle.  I'd also suggest you change the homestar so you get a better starting planet.  I like using Thalia for the class 15 planet, or Oxor so you get one class 10 and one class 8.  Let me know if you have any questions or want some hints.

Yeah, Would the Korx sell almost anything to you, even planets?

Anyone would sell their planets to you in the same situations and the same Diplomacy.  I wouldn't back the mentality that the Korx are to be a mercantile race fool you that they'll sell you their grandmother any more than the Alterians will.
