Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

By Posted November 15, 2007 21:29:55

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be...

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for another 80 octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 21 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 43.4% of this galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for almost 16 months running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

kzin6

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

If your claws can grasp it, then it is rightfully yours. - Kzinti proverb

A salute to all those heroic t'kzintar who have made this empire a resounding success. Our conquests continue and the galaxy will never know peace!

Swindle.....That shits me....

It's called a Mumbler...

Looks like KP has been stealing people's strategies and claiming them his own AKA Plagarism, once Mumble finds out you took his Mumbler strategy, renamed it and claimed it your own, your gonna end have to face the wrath of god.

Just kidding.

I have credited and thanked Mumblefatz many times for the basic idea of the all-diplomacy strategy.  If you havent noticed that, you havent been paying attention.  As to whether my Great Galactic Swindle closely resembles a Mumbler, its hard to say since I have made many refinements and enhancements to the basic idea, and dont have any idea what your full strategy is at the moment.  Maybe share it, and I'll  call them Mumblers.

The basic strategy idea has been known for many months, and personally I've done many games.  Unfortunate that your Tyrant "allies" have not seen fit to share it with you Seth.

That's really cause I prefer to use my own strategies. Also are you trying to make me turn against my friends? Cause I think you are.

February 28, 2009 21:48:35

KP didnt steal anything Seth. Mumble made the strat known.

Change it how you like, it's still a mumbler.....

The info is out there for Seth to find. There is nothing more that we could tell him that he could not find in mumbles posts about it or the plenty others.

Once again, I use my own strategies.

Also I was wondering when will the MV finally die cause I've been asking myself that since November.

February 28, 2009 22:25:59

The MV will live as long as we allow it to.

Amen to that!

With UE on the shelves at retailers, things may even pick up a bit. The MV is easily the best entertainment value that I am aware of.

"Die" is a very subjective term.  I'm sure there will be people submitting to the MV for as long as Stardock wants to maintain it.  MV activity is surely slowing down gradually, but is still pretty active.

I know I'll be playing as long as the MV is functional.  Doesnt mean I wont be playing some other games too....like Empire: Total War is coming out next week. [e digicons]B)[/e]

GmOOni, the solar refers to smaller maps, and the mil refers to military victories.  The AltMeta is divided by both map size and victory type into the various categories.

Time for one of my periodic reminders, KP - you really need to read some of the more recent Known Space work. The newest came out last month and it's a real eye opener. If you've read Crashlander, Juggler of Worlds begins as that story arc told from the perspective of Sigmund Ausfaller and various Puppeteers.

Really, all the newer work contradicts all you ever thought you knew about Known Space.

March 1, 2009 11:42:41

Sounds very interesting...defintely on my list.   I did read the Dune clone, Destiny's Forge a few months ago, which was decent.  What I have been reading most recently though is the Reality Dysfunction/Neutronium Achemist/Naked God series which was quite awesome.  The ending was a bit much of deus ex machina, but overall an exceptional series.

we? when was the last time you submitted an MV game?

PS: in preemptive anticipation of this point being made, i know SS supports the MV indirectly by helping others; i was just teasing.

Actually the Great Mtaverse War last for 7 years because of the fact that the Diplomats, Hegemonians and Orcas are apart of the Grand Alliance, but if the Grand Alliance just had the Confederation and Sororitas, then it would have then it would been very very short conflict. Also boh the Axis and Grand Alliance have minor races in them although the Grand Alliance has more than the Axis.

a bit much of deus ex machina

You mean that quite literally, don't you? That ending seemed a bit of a letdown to me[e digicons][/e]

As for known space, rereading the older ones is definitely suggested. Specifically, read Crashlander before Fleet of Worlds and Juggler of Worlds, and Protector (and all 4 Ringworld books) before the two short stories by Harrington in M-K Wars XI. Those sets are too interconnected to be read in isolation.

It would last much longer than you think. It would take you quite a while to even find a quarter of the members in those empires before you could begin to crush them.

And i guess the Gerontocracy will just be watching the action from the porch swings on our Frigates?

Quite literally, and otherwise.  After such a broad, rich, and deep story, to end every plot-line by the dictatorial decisions of one character was both surprising and disapointing.  And he certainly wouldnt have been the character I would have thought best equipped to make those decisions.  I never bought him as much other than self-interested.  Even with the ending though, I think it remains one of my favorite sci-fi series.

 Vampirium          Gerontocracy                                 Kuzuki Empire

The Gerontocracy as a minor race...and the Geckodons as major, even though the Gerontocrats are 1.5 times the size of the Geckodons.  It's your story, but that seems kinda silly.

Actually the list was typed out all messed up, I had to go fix it. Stupid forum. Anyways the  Gerontocracy is a major.

Ah, got it.  It also looked like they were in this Axis, and I thought the Alliance would make more sense, and I see that's what you did intend.
