Please report any questions or problems with the AltMeta here.

The intent of this thread is to provide a single place for the reporting of any and all AltMeta problems. The usual disclaimers apply. The AltMeta is Kryo's personal part time project that is neither supported or endorsed by Stardock.

All AltMeta problems will be dealt with in a timely manner however everyone must realize that there are hundreds of us and only one Kryo. From my own personal experience support will almost always be quicker than anyone has a right to expect, however on the off chance that it isn't please be patient. There's no need to repeat a request. Every request will be noticed. No request will be forgotten. You may not receive acknowledgement that the issue is being worked. You may not even receive notice that the issue has been corrected. But you can be absolutely assured that the issue will be corrected.

The new AltMeta has moved.

All sig banners and links will be automatically forwarded so this change should be totally transparent. However, there is one aspect of this move that will result in a change.

Previously, all characters that were in the top 100 official MV empires were automatically included in the AltMeta as long as they had any submitted games. This meant that any characters not in an empire or in an empire not in the top 100 have previously been excluded from the AltMeta. This was done primarily for bandwidth considerations. This wasn't a very big limitation since any character not in an empire could form their own empire and being in the top 100 official metaverse empires only required a total score of about 32K.

With the move to new hosting this is changed. To be included in the AltMeta will still require membership in an empire, but only those empires currently listed in the AltMeta will be automatically included. Any new empires will need to be manually added to the update list. All that's required is for any member of the empire to ask to be included. To ensure the quickest response it's best to make such a request to this thread, but this isn't absolutely required. All requests to be included in the ALtMeta will be honored regardless of where they're made. All in all this is an improvement since it removes any score requirement on the inclusion of new empires in the AltMeta.

Yes thats what i mean mate, but also in the Top Empire rankings table as well. I assume it's the same bug affecting both areas.

The MV has updated a few times since i uploaded and it still doesnt appear.

Any chance of you having a quick look to see if something is amiss?

If it's just the thumbnail that didn't work, it's hard to say what the cause might be. You may try doing it again with a jpg rather than a png (just add a black background or whatever) and see if that works.

Help please! For some reason i do not seem to appear in the AltMeta? I am in the top 40 players and my empire is currently at number 17 but neither show in the above. Is there a reason for this please?

Ya needed to get Kryo to add your empire to the Altmeta. I'm sure he will see this soon and add you.

Could someone explain the differences between the class rankings etc as there does not appear to be a legend of their meanings on the site.

Solar = Tiny & Small galaxies
Galactic = Medium & Large galaxies
Universal = Huge & Gigantic galaxies

Military = military victory
Civil = everything else

That's pretty much it prior to TA except for the fact that the Universal Military category includes *all* galaxy sizes and victory conditions so that it basically corresponds to the "regular" metaverse.

TA introduce two new conditions; the immense map and the ascension victory. I assume that immense maps are grouped in the Universal class and ascension victories are considered civil.

You're correct about the map size, but I learned the hard way that ascension wins are counted on the war ladders. I thought it would be civil also, but the score weighting the game gives that victory is closer to a military win than any of the other civil wins for the AltMeta. (Yes, I've already forgotten the exact numbers.) It works for me as a "light" war win because the bases can't be built up on their own, so you need fleet strength to defend them for any serious run on the victory type, and the nodes don't seem to be near good worlds very often.

Thanks for the correction. I basically just guessed and hoped that if I was wrong someone would correct me before the mis-information spread too far.

Could you add the Adepta Sororitas empire to the AltMeta please?

I just read the other post and went to the site and found my empire Adepta Sororitas is Rank 13[e digicons][/e] so you thank you Mumblefratz and Kyro for helping me out again.

I still haven't figured out how to post screenshot in a post? In "We Have Begun Researching" in TA post, I tried to post a screenshot and it came out a white picture of nothingness. May you help me out again by telling me what to do and help me fix my mistake?
